A doughnut that talks - yep,  Laurie Keller is breaking "the rules"!

She talks in sticky rapture about her first visit to a Krispy Kreme doughnut shop, watching the dough circles bob through the fryer and float beneath the cascade of sweet white glaze.

"It was the coolest thing," she says. "The doughnuts kept coming at me like these little characters coming to life."

So she created Arnie the Doughnut, who was so shocked to discover his fate in life was to be eaten, it felt "like somebody had punched a hole right through him."

Yeah. People would pay.
